Please excuse some noise that may occur during weekdays between 9 AM and 5 PM at this time due to some plumbing drain replacements. We expect the project to be completed by February 28th, 2022.

Roberts Point Park

You came to Port Aransas for Texas warmth, fun, and the sand and water at the beach along the Gulf of Mexico. The beach is a top priority any time of year. Long walks, swimming and splashing in the waves, or trying a new activity like paddleboarding or snorkeling are all things you can do to while away the time at the beach. Pack up your coolers and other beach gear, slip into your swimsuit, and head to Roberts Point Park for a day of fun in the sun. The park is located at 301 J Barr Blvd in Port Aransas and is open daily.

Water Fun

The 50-acre park is located on a peninsula of land that juts into the Corpus Christi Ship Channel, forming a safe harbor for the on-site municipal marina. Slip into your bathing suit and prepare for a day at the water. Swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, and more await you and your loved ones. If you brought your own boat from the mainland, you can rent a slip for your vessel at the marina.

Land Activities

The one-mile bulkhead that surrounds the park serves as a walking, jogging, and cycling trail where you can stay in shape on vacation. There are also benches and palapas along the route for sightseeing or taking a break with a beautiful view.

Large Pavilion

The large pavilion is usually reserved for special events including fishing tournaments, family cookouts, school outings, and other large-group activities. If a local festival or event features live performances, there is a stage, as well as two public restroom facilities. Call 361-749-5429 to rent the space through the Harbormaster’s office.

Picnic Pavilion

If you’re just here to hang out for the day, a picnic pavilion boasts shaded picnic tables, shuffleboard, bocci, basketball, and sand volleyball courts, as well as horseshoe pits, a soccer field, and playground equipment for the kids. You can also choose to spend some time nearby at the landscaped patio area at the tip of the park overlooking the entrance to Dennis Dreyer Municipal Harbor and Lydia Ann Channel.

Fishing

Cast a line from the jetties that mark the harbor or the bulkhead surrounding the park. Make sure to obtain the proper fishing permit from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department.

Tower

Climb the observation tower for a better view. The tower overlooks the ship channel and makes an excellent viewing area for dolphins and other marine life as they “bow-surf” in front of the large cargo ships and tankers using the channel.

Patsy Jones Amphitheater

Come in the months of March-October and enjoy a concert. The amphitheater hosts free public concerts on the 2nd Friday of the month. The amphitheater is located along the Corpus Christi Ship Channel and can also be reserved for your private event. Call 361-749-4158 for details.
